Dreaming the First

Note: While this is no happy dream, it's also not a Moon Cycle nightmare; no illness shall be forthcoming.

NggggghhhAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

[Philip jerked upright in bed, covered in sweat and staring wildly at the dark of his bedroom- and at no point does he notice the faint glimmer of the Dreamberry at his bedside table, its purple glow fading away.]

I live with my brother, Rene and Prince Arthur and Merlin.

Oh um... t-the moon in Somarium controls things. It causes all sorts of curious things to happen in Somarium. It once turned everything into a jungle, and another time, we all thought we were born in Somarium!

The second thing is... there are cards in Somarium... they show up randomly but they do curious things. They can make you older, younger, turn you into a boy or girl, they can even change your personality!

[She laughs when she's lifted and spun and flying. She was soaring. She felt that way quite a bit with him.]

We're getting married! [She had to tell Rapunzel! She wanted to tell everyone! She was practically bursting with joy as she was being held by Phillip. As he brought her back down, she wasn't quite sure her feet were even touching the ground. Surely, they must be on clouds. When she was pressed up against him, she knew that they would be able to withstand the world.

Her hands moved to rest on his shoulders... only to remember he was still bare-chested. Aurora suddenly blushed deeply.]

I'm quite glad to hear that. [She's safe in their company, then. GOOD.]

...Wait, the moon turned everything into a jungle? How on Earth did it manage that? [The mind-tweaking thing was considerably easier to cope with; everyone knew the full moon stole men's minds. Why else would they be called 'lunatics'?

And those cards... they surely sounded like maliciously random magic to him. The sort of thing a ~~child fairy~~ childish and immature mind with far too much power at its disposal would find funny, much like scattering spikes on a dark floor. Philip did NOT approve.]

It's well you told me these things, Milady Liddell; I might well have fallen victim to them otherwise. I owe you great thanks.

We're getting married! [The laughter just wouldn't stop bubbling up, as he brought her down for another kiss; under the circumstances, how could he resist?

Gradually letting go their most recent meeting of hearts and lips, he beamed at her with the feeling like his heart was too small to contain all the love he felt for her...

And then he noticed her blush.

[And then he noticed the way his lifting her had hiked her nightshirt up; he could almost see her (beautiful) knees!

And THEN he noticed that he'd been shirtless all this time. Yeah, pretty much every exposed inch of his skin all went beet-red in an instant.

Even so, Philip made sure to set her down gently, ensuring she had her footing before he tore across the bedroom to hunt down a shirt to wear. And even through the awkward whirlwind of trying to stuff a shirt on as fast as humanly possible, Philip's voice came through as he tried to defuse the situation.]

Of course we'll want to set a date, and a locale, decide who's to officiate, come up with a feast and a show and attire and- Oh, there's so much to be done! Will you handle the invitations?

The cards can show up anywhere at any time. Sometimes the things they do last a week, sometimes only three days. But you have to be careful because the cards can turn you mute or make you terribly ill!

[Do you know, it wasn't until that ~~ogling~~ staring that he even noticed his shirtlessness?

As such, have a blushing/irritated Philip seeking and grabbing a shirt to pull over his head; show's over, missy.]

It was a memory, and one I would much rather forget.

[Ooh, that IS good to know!] So just avoid all cards, everywhere? I imagine that might be difficult, but should be possible.

I'm... afraid it doesn't work that way. The cards can show up even as you're brushing your hair and they magically make you touch them... but... well, thankfully they don't show up very often.

Rapunzel has already said she would help! And I've asked her to be my maid of honor! [So she was planning ahead, no harm in that.] Oh! Sir Tamaki is getting married as well, I'm sure we could ask if he knows of any good places! And who are we inviting? Shall we invite everyone? And oh there's so much to plan! [She's excited and she kisses him again.]

Let's get married as soon as we can. It will be beautiful no matter what because I'll be marrying you.

...Well, that does make things a little more tricky. They can make you touch them, you say? Someone's enjoying that kind of sport a bit too much.

[Don't you worry, tiny adorable Alice; the frown he's wearing isn't for you at all!]

You think strength comes from the memories of being helpless? That it's better to think of times when there was no way to fight back?

I have better memories by far to turn to when in need of strength, Goodwoman.

[Even now, he manages to avoid adding any ugly inflection to the terms he used; while he kept it flat, there wasn't any real indication that he thought the 'Goodwoman' was anything but at this point.]

There are bad times aplenty worth remembering, especially for the sake of those who never managed to come through them. This one isn't worth recalling.

[Because NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, that's why! But no; it was fairly public information back home; no need to treat it like a state secret.] Because a very petty, very wicked fairy was left out of a social function and desired to make a kingdom suffer for it.

They don't... often appear though.

Oh dear. That's certainly dreadful.

Not particularly enjoyable, no. [Thank you for being moderately nicer than the pink-haired person, Mozart. He might have to check as to whether Aurora would appreciate him in eyeliner after all.]

Perhaps, but just because a bad thing doesn't happen often doesn't make it any less bad, now does it?

I know that.

Does... does Rapunzel even know yet? [Admittedly, he's a bit 'bzuh' at that... but finding out she was certain enough of his love to already start making arrangements is both a) heartwarming, and b) makes life easier. So yay!]

I'll have to speak with this Sir Tamaki, then... but do you know, I learned of a place when I was last in Espoir that might best do the job. It could use a little clean-up, but what better place to wed my precious rose than the Church of the Rose? [He'll have a sly little grin at that; hee, wordplay!]

And yes, we'll invite everyone, and throw a grand banquet in the middle of town for all to enjoy! And- [Whup, she claimed his lips again; he's going to be a bit distracted. Give him a couple moments?]

I'd hoped you would.

I don't doubt that you've just saved me from making some serious blunders, o Sage Teacher Alice. [He rose, bowing floridly to the Dreamberry with a smile; she's had a bad enough time as it is, and better by far to get her grinning again.] I promise, I shall do my utmost to comport myself as a student of yours should, and not betray your formidable tutelage and fairy wisdom.

Perhaps we might meet once again, in town at some time? [He'd give her a caaaarving...]

[When she pulled away from the kiss she blushed.] We-Well... she doesn't... but I-I thought if you ever did... I would want her there.

[She blinks and then giggles, terribly amused.] I would be happy to teach you as much as I know! And we could certainly meet.
