Adventure the Second [Video]

[The screen jars into a view of a beaming face, looking like he just got named Sultan of Happytown.]

SHE SAID YES!

[Yep, that was an ecstatic Prince Philip wandering through the streets of Espoir, randomly grabbing people and dancing merrily with them whether they would or no. Big giant ominous glowing statue? Who cares about that, Philip's got a SONG in his heart and on his lips!]

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On ah-Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, darling, kiss me

[Alas, he's not QUITE delirious enough to actually start smooching people. Sorry, maybe some other time!]

Fill my heart with song
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I cherish and adore
In other words, you know it's true
In other words, I LOVE YOU!

[OOC: Guess who got some good news and is inflicting his joy on EVERYBODY? If you're in Espoir, feel free to stop by and gawk/get forcibly dance-abducted. It's a great day to be alive, folks; so says the prince!]

[A florid bow... in the direction of the Dreamberry.

That he was holding outstretched.

Look, he's still in the mood for dancing, alright?]
Prince Philip of Corunne, at your service.

[OOC: Yaaay, made-up kingdom names!)

[well that was weird to watch. the bow that is.]

...Never heard of it, but...it's an honor to meet you? [rubs the back of his neck. was that what he should say? he has no clue. what do you do when you meet weird royalty like this.]

Heiwajima Shizuo. [and just a polite nod. if it were in person he might have done more of a formal bow, but even if he hadn't seen Philip's version, it would be still weird to do it on a Dreamberry.]

[He's MUCH less doofy when he wasn't soon-to-be married, honest!]

My thanks, Goodman Shizuo. I look forward to meeting you in person! [Saaaay, at the wedding you're clearly coming to, seeing that you didn't say no.]

[Goodman what—]

...Just Shizuo is fine. [whatever image Shizuo may have had about royalty and princes, this definitely wasn't it.

and he may or may not. ...maybe. if he remembers.]

[Better than calling him 'peasant', right?]

Just Shizuo, then. I must say, everyone in this place seems amazingly informal.

[Ahh, that's because he was one of the Royals Who Actually Did Something. And a land where nobody knew or even cared about his royal status, somewhere that he'd have to rely only on himself instead of all the resources and privileges of his royal rank? To Philip, it was a chance to find out just how good he really was!

Several royals might wonder how they'd do if they didn't have everyone bowing at their feet; now Philip can actually KNOW.]

[small shrug.]

Guess because most of us are from normal worlds.

[identity profile] philip-charming.livejournal.com 2011-11-20 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Okay, have a Look for that one]

'Normal' is a very difficult thing to pin down, G- Shizuo, changing as it does from place to place and even person to person.

[And considering the overblown formality in YOUR culture just a hundred years (or so) ago, pot calling kettle much?]

[identity profile] hatesviolence.livejournal.com 2011-11-21 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry. Normal as in...[what's the word...] Common? Modern? Not really a lot of royalty around.

[yeah yeah.]

Are you then so certain? I'd seen a Queen just a week ago, and my beloved Princess Aurora has apparently been here for some time...

If anything, I'd say this place is top-full with royalty. [It's USUALLY one family per country, you know.]

I said most, not everyone.

[shrug.]

Either way, still doesn't seem to matter. Ain't like any of you are ruling over us.

[identity profile] philip-charming.livejournal.com 2011-11-23 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
All too true, and I do worry about the state of this place for that. It's unfortunate to be so lacking in lordship... But would likely be far worse if we began fighting over who should rule.

[He THINKS about these things, Shizuo.]

...

Speaking of which, do we even have anyone as mayor or something...? [ponders over this.]

[identity profile] philip-charming.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
The very fact that such a question would have to be asked proves my point... and from what I'm told, there isn't. Passable under ideal circumstances, perhaps, but the lack of structured authority is doubtless very noticeable if- or when- things go wrong.

[identity profile] hatesviolence.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Hm...[shrugs.] Not that I can tell. I've been here for a while and stuff's happened, but usually everything works out.

[identity profile] philip-charming.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps.

But was there any structure to the solutions? Anything past 'everyone just try really hard to fix it?'

((OOC: Wedding date changed to Dec. 5th, Walt Disney's birthday.))

[ponder ponder.]

Ah...I guess the police force helps with that.

And there's something I still don't understand.

These guardsmen, these 'police'- How are they gathered? Who do they answer to? By whom are they paid?

And why are these answers not known already?
