Adventure the Fourth [Video; SOOOOO very locked away from Aurora]

[The video comes on without any jarring or jolts; Philip's been practicing.

Stepping back from the Dreamberry to get more of himself recorded, he began:]

Hello, Somarium. This is Prince Philip; you might have noticed my name on the wedding invitations sent out this Sunday past.

Well, I've been handling the arrangements while my dear Aurora took care of the planning, and my side is either all prepared or will be by the time our blessed event rolls around... Except for one aspect.

Someone to officiate.

[Feel free to laugh and mock here, Philip feels like he has it coming.]

So I put it to you, folk of this place. Is there anyone among you that could join my Princess and I in matrimony? As much of a dream this place might be, we'd still like our union to be as legal as possible.

[And it's much appreciated!]

My thanks, Goodwoman. And no, not yet; we still need an officiator.

[Aw, Goodwoman. How cute.]

Try asking around in Espoir. There's a great number of churches there.

[It's important to be appropriate about these things, after all.]

Many chapels, but I've yet to find a priest save for the skeevy-looking Cardinal that set up The Church of Holy Light... And he woke up some weeks ago.

I'd be overjoyed to find a proper priest, but in this place a monarch might actually be easier to hunt down. [Som's weird that way, eh?]

[At the mention of that less-than-holy man, an unreadable emotion flickers over the lovely woman's face. Naomi's husband may be pleased the handsome, Italtian charmer is gone, but Naomi herself is not.]

Check City Hall. That's where I was married and I believe they might be better able to direct you to what you'd like than most people in the city.

[Philip didn't really have any reason to dislike the man save for a bad vibe and an atrociously rude snub at one point, but all in all he's privately quite glad he never got around to asking Borgia to perform the ceremony.

Even so...]
City Hall? Were you then married by the mayor of this place?

...They can do that?

[Finding out that there actually WAS a mayor to handle these things wasn't nearly as startling to learn about the powers he presumably possessed; an EARL didn't have the authority to marry, so why should a mere mayor? That's the parish priest's job.]

[Naomi knew that the handsome, younger man had come from a timeline sometime from the distant, but the woman hadn't thought it had been that long ago.

She's still grinning brilliantly as her head tilts coyly to the side.]
Actually, there's a great number of people who can perform the ceremony these days who are not at all affiliated with the church. I don't think the Mayor himself has the time lately, especially with all of the rebuild and chaos Somarium always brings along, but you'll find someone respectable there.

[Oh aye, Philip's very definitely from the Old School... but good thing he's from an idealized fantasy version. Because that keeps him from going on about blasphemy and protecting the Holy Mother Church, etc etc.

At least, it does THIS time.]
I'd imagine that might make his scheduling rather tricky, yes- but if so, what else do they have at this Town Hall of yours?

[He's used to that pretty much being the equivalent of an auditorium for the village, big roofed space where people can do things in groups.]

A little bit of everything, honestly.

City Hall serves a great variety of purposes today, both political and for the people. It provides the public as a place for voting, examinations, vaccinations, a setting for local festivities and events, but you'll also find that administrative functions are taken care of there as well. They both make and carry out the laws of the state, make proposals, carry on debates...just about anything you can think of.

[...Wow. They really DID have things organized in this place. It's too bad he won't remember this kind of thing when he wakes up!]

I... see, this Hall is certainly the place to find officials. But what is its relationship to the 'division' that takes care of the running of this city?
